Presenter: Betsy Stephens Ellsworth, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, Greenhills School

Bio:  Betsy is the Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Greenhills School, a 6-12th grade independent school in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  A graduate of Princeton Day School, Betsy holds an A.B. in history from Mount Holyoke College, and an M.A. in history from Duke University.  Growing up on the campus of The Lawrenceville School, a daughter of two Lawrenceville teachers, Betsy's perspective and knowledge of the independent school world comes from first-hand experience teaching and coaching at Detroit Country Day School, The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia and The McDonogh School outside of Baltimore, Maryland.  Her 10 years of experience in the admission office at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, gave her insights into the "value added" of independent schools from the college admission perspective.  In addition to her leadership role in the Greenhills admission office, Betsy leads a 12th grade advisory, has worked with the college counseling office and taught US History.  Betsy is the chair of the AIMS (Admission Association of Michigan) Admission and Communications group, has served on ISACS accreditation teams and admission panels at national conferences, and served on the board of AISAP (Association of Independent School Admission Professionals) for six years where she is a member of their Annual Institute faculty.
