Bio: Glynn Below has been the Director of Admission at Randolph School in Huntsville, AL since 2009 and an AISAP Summer Institute participant at Cranbroo, Webb and Harpeth Hall.  Before her life in admissions, she taught French for 20 years in Plaquemines Parish, Louisianna; St. Paul's in Mobile, Alabama; Tuscaloosa Academy in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and at Randolph.  Her private and public school background, St. John's Country Day in Jacksonville, Florida to Fairfax County Schools in Virginia, gives her a broad perspective on schools.  She holds degrees in Modern Languages and French Literature from Clemson University and The University of Alabama, respectively.  She has one daughter, Ally, who will be a senior at Randolph in the coming school year.

We launched the Randolph Parent Association Admissions Ambassadors two years ago to support our Admissions Office.  They immediately began to have an impact on event planning and mentor family program development.  Their value as a focus group who connected Communications and Admissions with prospective family thoughts and motivations emerged quickly.  Out of these focus group conversations grew the Top Ten Admissions Conversations document that we use today as an internal and external piece that fuels conversations in the daily word of mouth effort.  The story we wrote to promote this effort is our most popular post ever.  Additionally, how can we involve the “Malcolm Gladwell connector” parents in the big picture planning of admissions?  The Randolph Ambassador Network has five focus areas to project and connect Randolph in the Greater North Alabama area:  Development, Admissions, Academics, Arts and Athletics.  This Admissions group has developed plans and planted seeds for area connections that get the conversations started in the community web of business, philanthropy and neighborhood.  The benefits of these initiatives will play out for many years to come.
