Presenter: Fred McGaughan, Managing Director, The Gowan Group
Bio: Fred has over thirty years of experience in the independent school world, boarding and day, as a Director of Admission, Director of Institutional Advancement, Senior Leader, and Marketing Consultant. Renowned for his innovative approaches to strategic enrollment management, integrated marketing communications, branding/positioning, and strategic planning, Fred has presented workshops and seminars for NAIS, SSATB, ERB, ISEE, and ISACS. He co-founded the NJAIS Admission Group and served as a faculty member for the NAIS Admission Training Institute. As a marketing consultant for secondary independent schools, Fred has conducted admission office audits, retooled inbound as well as outbound marketing strategies, analyzed demographics and designed image ad campaigns.
Most recently, as a founding Senior Leader and Director of Admission, Fred helped launch a successful new independent high school in Florida (Oxbridge Academy), which in three years grew applications to 780 and enrollment to 550. Fred holds a bachelors degree in English from Holy Cross and a master’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
