WEBINAR: Telling Stories of Your School Through Video
When:
Apr 5, 2018 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)
Description:
In this webinar, we will see how video acts as another critical piece in the school marketing and communications puzzle. Through reviewing clips and discussing specific projects, Michael will show how telling stories through video is a great way to convey your school’s uniqueness and bring prospects to your campus. We will see how videos made specifically for admissions, alumni, development or marketing can have their own requirements and creative approaches. How do people at the school collaborate with the filmmaker to make the project actually happen and succeed? We will outline the video making process from the idea phase, to project goals, to the shoot day, to the final edit, and finally to marketing and exhibiting the video properly.

Presenter:
Michael Branscom, Founder Michael Branscom Photo+Film
Bio:
Michael has been a freelance photographer since the early 1990s and began shooting still photos for independent schools in 2002. In 2013, his clients expressed a great need for video for their web sites and fund raising campaigns. Michael soon discovered that his way of using still photos to capture real life in and outside the classroom translated naturally to his documentary style approach to filmmaking. Michael has presented about photography in classrooms and at conferences and now brings his knowledge of how to use video to tell stories about your school to this year’s Annual Institute. In addition to independent schools and colleges around the country, he has been hired to take photos and make films for independent artists, ad agencies, magazines, healthcare and financial companies. He studied journalism at The University of Minnesota and has lived in the Philadelphia area for the last 20 years.
