Presenter: Mikki Murphy, Director of Admissions, Placement, and Diversity, Far Brook School

Bio:  Mikki has been the Director of Admissions and Placement at Far Brook School for eleven years.  As the parent of two Far Brook graduates, Mikki now knows the school from inside and out!  Her own three children each attended different independent high schools, deepening the broad perspective and appreciation she has for our industry.  Prior to working at Far Brook, Mikki worked for fifteen years in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in New York City as a public finance banker and business manager. Mikki earned her undergraduate degree in politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Description:

For many of us, the admissions season has expanded to become a full year effort.  No longer are all seats filled by mid spring. What are some strategies to fill those last few spots?  How can we be more creative and more efficient in finding mission-appropriate families who may not be familiar with what our schools have to offer?  This interactive workshop will explore some non-traditional opportunities to cultivate new prospective families.
