Who should attend?
The AISAP Annual Institute is designed and created for admission and enrollment management professionals who are at varying stages of their professional progression.
- Entering (0 - 2 yrs experience)
- Emerging (Up to 3 - 5 years as an A&EM professional or A&EM Director)
- Advancing (5 - 15 years as an A&EM professional or A&EM Director)
- Mastery (greater than 15 years in role of AEM profession or A&EM Director)
- Additionally, those whose work supports those in the A&EM profession.
Why should I attend?
Data and trending information, reinforced by our ongoing benchmarking tools, confirms what most of us can attest to through our personal experience; that each person's road map to and through the admission profession is as varied as the schools we represent. What brought you to the admission profession? Where are you today in your understanding of what competencies and skills are necessary to succeed in today's landscape? Are you prepared for the road ahead? And as well, are you planning your journey or will you find yourself being led by the trends and the tyranny of the moment? AISAP knows that the future has its nuances, twists, and turns and we will stay with you no matter what road bumps we may encounter. How can I find out if my school is a member or what do I do if I am interested in joining AISAP and attend this event at a discounted rate?

What is the Institute Program Methodology?
The Institute programming is constructed in a manner that allows for small group discussion through a varied approach to presentation. Case study analysis and presentations from admission professionals and industry leaders, people who know and are experienced in their field, familiar with the issues at hand, and successful in the implementation of strategies to advance your daily work serve as the methods of teaching. Besides, cornerstone speakers will speak to general session themes and help to cue up our daily activity. Finally, foundational and "in the trenches" strategies will be highlighted and reinforced for you to return to your school and immediately implement these takeaways.
What are the AISAP Cohort Groups?
An aspect of your AISAP Annual Admission Institute journey is our annual cohort groupings. Started back at our first Institute, each participant is part of a cohort group that will help to emphasize the importance of contacts, collegiality, and community of peers. Your group will meet several times throughout the Institute and as well AISAP supports these organizations after the program through ongoing web-based meetings as well as community-based net forums to keep the conversation and collaboration going long after we leave Nashville.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, guests ages 21 and over are invited to attend the scheduled receptions and Annual Institute dinner. You may select all or select each event individually for your guest. Prices range from $40 -$90 depending on which event your guest would like to attend. Please make your selections when completing the online registration process.
Are there discounts if I want to register more than one person from my school?
Yes. The first attendee from a school will need to pay the full rate for registration. Then additional people from that school will be able to use a discount code when prompted in the system to register any other people. This will be available for AISAP Members and Non-Members.
What is the refund policy?
All cancellations or substitutions must be submitted in writing to billing@aisap.org or faxed to 203-905-6802. We allow substitutions up to 2 business days before the program start date. You can read our Substitutions and Cancellation Policy HERE.
Are there other area hotels for Institute attendees?
The host hotel for 2018 is the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University. A special discounted rate will be available. Do not wait too long to make your reservations!! Call or go online to our AISAP Annual Institute Reservation Page to secure your reservations. You may search other hotels, but please note that transportation to our host school and our evening events will only be provided from the host hotels. You will be responsible for securing your ground transfers if staying at a different hotel.
What airport should I fly into?
The nearest airport is the Nashville International Airport (BNA).
What are the recommended options for shuttle transportation to and from the hotel and airport?
Several ground transportation options are available once you get to Nashville
- Taxi | $30 Average from the airport
- Uber | $20 one way from the airport.
- You will need to set up your account on the website and download their app on your android/iPhone in advance.
- Lyft | $20 one way from the airport.
- Rental Car | Several companies are located at the airport.
What should I pack?
Last year, the temperatures in mid-July in ranged from high 80's for a high, and low 70's for a low. There is rarely precipitation in mid-July, and the humidity usually ranges from 70% (comfortable) to 80% (humid). Our style at the Annual Admission Institute is Business Professional, with after-hours events that are Business Casual and fun.
What to wear?
Show your school pride and wear any logos from your current school or your college alma mater. Pack for business casual attire. Also, make sure that you wear comfortable shoes. We will be using several buildings on the Vanderbilt campus and want you to be comfortable when walking to and from different classes. Also, while it will be hot outside, the Vanderbilt buildings are air conditioned so you might want to bring a warm article of clothing during sessions.
What can I do during free time?
We do have after-hours dinners, events, and parties you can attend, but Nashville is "Music City, U.S.A." Here is a link to Vanderbilt University's page "Our Hometown" and here is the official Nashville Visitor Center webpage.
How do I get to the meetings each day?
AISAP will be providing shuttle transportation daily from the host hotel to our host school for the meetings. All sessions will be held at our host school on Monday and Tuesday and at our hotel on Sunday and Wednesday. There is limited parking at our host school, so please plan on traveling on the bus each day.
If I extend my stay, can I receive the group hotel room rate?
The group rate is available three days before and three days after the Institute dates based on hotel availability.
