Our Director of Marketing and Communication is leaving, so we are in the position to assess our needs and determine how we fill the position. I'd love to hear from other schools about the models they've chosen. Director? Manager? Coordinator? Stand alone department, or reporting to Development? Admissions? Advancement?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lisa,
At The Derryfield School, we have a two-person communications team: Director of Communications and Marketing and Director of Digital Communications. They report to our Associate Head of School (who oversees Admission and Advancement), work closely with Admission and Advancement, and fulfill other marketing, PR, and communication needs across the school.

We are a day school for grades 6-12 with an enrollment of 390. Our communications team is definitely stretched as the demands for video, CRM, and digital marketing have increased.

I think every school's model is different, tailored to the needs! Good luck!

    Best,
    Kathleen Rutty-Fey
