    Hello,

We are interested in developing a Guardian/Host Family program at our school, and I am hoping to talk with any schools that currently have one in place. We are a day school for grades 5-12 and have boarding for grades 9-12. Currently, we do not expect resident students to have a local guardian or host family, but we would like to require this for all new students for at least their first year. We have a general idea of what this program would look like, but I would like some insight on the details of this type of program.

    Thank you,

    Hi Laura,

I'd be happy to talk through some of the things I've learned at a 6-12 co-ed day school in West Hartford, CT. I wrote our International Student Handbook based on some of the benefits and challenges that we encountered last year. Our program is relatively young (6 years). I can reached at emery.s@kingswoodoxford.org!
