AISAP is proud to partner with Alisa Evans of Mission Enrollment on a three-week online course designed specifically to help SSS users review financial aid applicant folders.
Each week we’ll tackle a different aspect of folder reviews with a live one-hour class. All classes will be recorded so if you’re unable to attend in real-time, you can always revisit later.
You’ll learn to:
- Triage your list of applicants
- Review applicant folders from top to bottom using checklists and more
- Pay particular attention to sometimes tricky business owner applications
This course includes a private 30 minute consultation with Alisa to discuss your challenging financial aid folders or specific questions about the process. Plus, you’ll earn 3 CECs in the process.
Session 1 - How to Triage Your Work into Manageable Chunks Tuesday, January 14 at 3 pm ET It’s time to gear up for your folder reviews! How can you triage your list of FA applicants? How do you take a list of hundreds of folders and break it down into manageable chunks and buckets? This class will cover all of this and more and will include a triage checklist to get you started.
Session 2 - Folder Review and Revisions of Non-Business Applicants Wednesday, January 22 at 3 pm ET Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall when someone else is reviewing financial aid folders to get tips and tricks on how they do it? Or simply learn for the first time how to effectively review folders, update the family contribution worksheet, and ask parents for more info? We’ll review two applicants folders together so you can see first-hand how quickly you can arrive at a clean number. You will receive a folder review checklist as part of your materials.
Session 3 - Folder Review and Revisions of Business/Rental Owner Applicants Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 3 pm ET Reviewing business owners requires not only fixing errors but a much deeper review of business forms that give important insights into actual income, not simply taxed income. You will learn what business taxes need to be required, how to review business tax documents, and where to add back income on the family contribution worksheet. We will examine three files so you can see an actual review of different business applicant folders. You will receive a business owner checklist as part of your materials.
Session 4: Schedule your 30 minute 1:1 with Alisa This course includes a private 30 minute consultation with Alisa to discuss your challenging financial aid folders or specific questions about the process. (Time to be determined by participant and Alisa.)
