Webinar | You've Admitted Me, Now Help Me Stay: Creating a Transition Program
When:
Sep 30, 2019 from 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM (ET)
Independent schools are tasked to create diverse campus environments. The admission of qualified non-traditional students contributes to campus diversity, but many of these students and families are unprepared to meet the challenges and reap the benefits of the independent school world. The unique independent school experiences of the presenter as an independent school alum, teacher, coach, and parent led his school to charge him with creating a transition program to help these nontraditional students and families after admission. He will share his successes and the lessons learned as he developed this program. This workshop will be a collaborative journey to identify and quantify challenges at your school, allowing you to create or enhance your own student transition program for the nontraditional student.
Presenter:
Marcus Wells, Director of Financial Aid and Student Transition, Episcopal School of Jacksonvile
Marcus is a proud alum of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, where has been blessed to work for the past 6 years. He has been in his current role as Director of Financial Aid and Student Transition for 3 years. He also teaches math and is the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator for the varsity football team. He began his career as an educator 13 years ago as a public high school social studies teacher. He is a father of 4, all of whom are alum or current students of Episcopal.
