An Overview of Data for School Leaders (DASL) and Introduction to Quick Reports
Hilary LaMonte, Sr. VP Data and Analysis for School Leadership (DASL), NAIS

Admission and Enrollment leaders need to know how to benchmark data, identify trends, and understand market demographics. These sessions will demonstrate the critical importance of data and how you can utilize it to drive strategy and exhibit leadership to your school and board. These sessions will be a hands-on, “real time” learning experience. You will learn how to access and use NAIS national and regional data to help identify questions and guide future enrollment planning at your school.

The session will include a step-by-step guide on how to access and use DASL reports to make comparisons, answer questions, and use data to guide strategy. Working alongside the presenters, you will create customized benchmarking reports for your school. With just a few clicks, you can customize and save critical reports, including enrollment, financial operations, diversity, and advancement to show how your school stacks up against others in your area and across the country.

2:45 PM - 3:45 PM Fun with Spreadsheets
James Eberhart, Director of Financial Aid & Associate Director of Admission, Chadwick School

In today’s data-driven world, spreadsheet proficiency is a must have skill for admission and enrollment professionals. This session is designed to empower you with the knowledge and techniques you need to harness the full potential of Excel and Google Sheets.

Using some more advanced formulae available in Excel and Google Sheets, this session will show you how to move your data from "data" through "sorted" and to "arranged." The session will show you how to use the data you pull from your database or the DASL reports, organize it into a standard layout, and then make use of some useful pipeline dashboard arrangements. Every participant will come away with a spreadsheet that they can use to import their own data as a starting point for their own school's data and the knowledge of some useful formulae to build their own dashboards and visualizations.
