z-Gretchen Lurie

Gretchen Lurie is Director of Admissions at Chandler School in Pasadena, CA. An alumna of Colby College with graduate studies in educational administration at Fordham University, Gretchen began her career in private education at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. For more than 25 years, she has been involved in the life of independent schools as a teacher, dorm parent and boarding program coordinator, admissions associate and director, as well as an active parent volunteer. In her role at Chandler, Gretchen serves as a member of the Senior Administrative Team and is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of the admissions process and key retention efforts in both divisions (Lower and Middle) of the school. Gretchen is a recognized leader in her local admissions consortium. A member since 2006, she currently serves on AISAP’s Board of Directors. Gretchen received her CAEP certification with AISAP in 2016. She is a 2007 graduate of The Crow’s Nest Institute, was a presenter at NAIS in 2010, and served as a member of a CAIS accreditation team in 2018. She enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, theatre, travel and time with her family.
