Gretchen Lurie is Director of Admissions at Chandler School in Pasadena, CA. A 1986 graduate of Colby College with additional work in educational administration at Fordham University, Gretchen began her career in private education at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. For more than 25 years, she has been involved in the life of independent schools as a teacher, dorm parent & boarding program coordinator, admissions associate and director as well as an active parent volunteer. In her role at Chandler, Gretchen serves as a member of the Senior Administrative Team and is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of the admissions process and key retention efforts in both divisions (Lower and Middle) of the school. While wearing many hats in a small community, Gretchen is a recognized leader in her local admissions consortium. She was a presenter at NAIS in 2010, is a 2007 graduate of The Crow’s Nest Institute and has been a member of AISAP since 2006 where she also serves on the Communications/Marketing Committee. This is her third summer on the AISAP Institute leadership team. Gretchen is the proud mother of two and enjoys running, swimming, hiking, cooking, reading and travel.
