What is a Continuing Education Credit (CEC) and why is AISAP providing them for you?


AISAP is dedicated to your development as an Admission and Enrollment Management (A&EM) professional. Therefore, education is a cornerstone of all we do at AISAP. And, as with any cornerstone, it sets the layout of a structure and marks the occasion of that work. In 2018, we introduced that structure in the Learning & Development Professional Framework. 

CEC stands for Continuing Education Credit. A CEC is one unit of credit that equals one hour of participation in CEC-qualifying AISAP education offerings. An AISAP Continuing Education Credit is a professional development experience that adheres to the constructs of the AISAP Learning & Development Professional Framework. In offering CECs, AISAP supports individuals as they track their entire professional development journeys. 

All AISAP educational offerings are linked to the L&D Framework. AISAP established CECs in response to Admission and Enrollment Management Professionals’ requests for a more precise system to identify courses that move and elevate the profession. AISAP continues to serve as a resource and a repository of resources for the profession, which includes our recent launch of certification (CAEP) and our plans for credentialing (Spring/Summer 2019). While AISAP acknowledges that learning opportunities are available and essential from many resources, the specific aspects of AISAP’s program were designed with full consideration of National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs, and were modeled after similar programs offered by other NCCA accredited credentialing programs.

In essence, CECs note the level of our commitment to you as a professional and any of our participants in the AISAP CEC-Approved Provider Program. AISAP will collect and track your CECs for all A&EM Professionals upon request.
