Description:

Admission applications provide rich information on a wide range of indicators of academic performance and nonacademic potential, but how do admission offices determine the relative importance of these indicators for predicting future outcomes at their school? This session describes how independent schools can conduct local validity studies to answer this question and by doing so, set basic guidelines for admissions. It will cover what professional standards say about the importance of conducting validity studies, the methodology usually employed in the admissions context, typical study challenges and ways of overcoming them, and how to interpret and use study results.
