Planning for enrollment at our schools is at a crossroads. Many families are unsure about their family’s future and are not yet able to commit to next year, and beyond. This session will focus on the historical lessons independent schools have learned from past events and how to apply these to today’s reality.
Presenter: Thom Greenlaw, Founder, Creative Independents Thom Greenlaw is the Founder of Creative Independents, a Savannah GA and Sandwich MA based consulting practice, specializing on the needs of independent schools Thom provides a variety of finance and operational based services, with a focus on governance practices, financial sustainability and executive search and coaching. He has served as President of Independent Schools Compensation Corporation (ISCC) since 2012, a member-based self-insurance group which serves 175 Massachusetts-based independent schools, colleges and cultural organizations. He also served for over twenty-five years in varying senior roles in independent schools. He most prominently was Special Assistant for Strategic Initiatives at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (BB&N) from 2017-18 and Assistant Head for Operations/ CFO at BB&N from 2001-2013, In that role Thom oversaw all financial non-academic operations of the school. In between stints at BB&N he served as COO and Assistant Head for Strategic Initiatives at the Ethel Walker School. Prior to his employment at BB&N Thom served as Business Manager at the Dana Hall School for 6 years and was a university and hospital administrator for twenty years. Thom was a Board member of AISAP from 2012-16 and served as Treasurer.
