When:  Sep 16, 2020 from 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM (ET)
After a look into Maggie Jackson’s lessons learned in virtual event planning this summer, comes this follow up presentation outlining general event planning strategies. While many ideas and tips can be used for virtual events as well, as we continue to operate in this unusual situation, Maggie takes us into her regularly used event planning process for intimate parent gatherings to large scale open houses. From catering, linens, and set up, to programming and print materials, join us as we review actionable strategies you can put to immediate use in your own admission event planning.

Presenter:  Maggie Jackson, Director of Admission, Hawken Upper School

Maggie has worked in the world of admissions across the spectrum. She joined Hawken Upper School in 2018 as Director of Admission. Previously she served as Assistant Head of School at a bilingual international school abroad where she now serves on the board. Prior to her work abroad, Maggie worked in higher education and served for a decade in admissions at Earlham College, also receiving her Master’s Degree in Education during that time. During her work in higher education, she visited hundreds of schools across the country and read thousands of applications from public, private, and independent schools.

The third generation of women in her family to believe and work in progressive education, Maggie was drawn to Hawken for its history of whole-child education, its dedication to character development and fair play, and its promise to value and grow students who go out into the world and do good things. Maggie has presented at regional and national conferences on important issues and practices facing admission teams. She currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband and son.
